Have you ever consider mythology and wondered if it was based in some true events? Men like Hercules could be the biblical character Samson. Or possibly the gigantic Cyclops the Nephilim giants mentioned in Generation. Until now these kin could just be considered fanciful ideas to put a puzzle together.
It is a twist of irony that the process utilized by biblical scholars to interpret the bible is called hermeneutics. That is because the term was taken from and derived its meaning from the pagan Grecian god of messages Hermes. Thus the name Hermeneutics.
Hermes was the chief intermediary or liaison for the all the gods. Hence he was known in Greek culture as the messenger god. The Egyptians; however, were the first to have a mythological god who was the bridge between the gods and man, his name was Thoth.

What is fascinating about the Egyptian god Thoth is that he was given credit for formulating and inventing the first lunar calendar which was based upon the twelve thirty day lunar cycles of the moon as it coursed through the sky
But the god Thoth who was far more ancient then Hermes and from whom the Greeks fashioned their god had an ancestor who also was given credit for inventing the lunar calendar. His name was Enoch the Biblical character in the book of Genesis
But what is remarkable is the biblical Enoch, in the book of Enoch, also gives details of the movement of the moon, from which he too is credited for inventing the lunar calendar, thus Thoth, Hermes and Enoch are one and the same.
Consider the ramifications of this connection when looking at Greek Mythology. Perhaps myth and legend are not so far removed from reality.
