Those people who post a “cool” picture will have a fluctuating rate of followers. The reality is most of us are not rock stars and when we see people we could relate to, we feel more comfortable to become friends and communicate with them. If you are a company on Twitter that wants to build brand awareness or interact with your customers, you can use your logo, an illustrated character relating to your company, or a relevant image that your customers can identify with.
3. Customize your background. This tip correlates with the first tip. Depending on your objective on Twitter, you should customize the information or image you want to post on your profile background. For people who are on Twitter for fun and friendship, find a cool Twitter background that expresses your personality that shows your interests. Even a nice photograph is a good idea. If you want to promote yourself for employment, there are great examples that can display a professional picture of yourself; your contact information and displays your Linked-In page address. You should be confident enough to direct potential employers to your Twitter page after an interview. For a model or singer, choose a shot from a prior photo shoot which shows versatility and star quality. An artist might want to use one of their pieces as a background. For companies, this is your chance to really build your brand presence. You can outsource to a company that specializes in creating corporate backgrounds or have an in-house designer create a nice page with website and contact information.
