Work at home moms have an abundance of online opportunities to choose from to earn extra money. Amongst these good opportunities, it is true that there are some bad ones, but letting the minority spoil the majority is never a good approach to take in any walk of life. With that in mind, lets look at five of the best ways in which work at home moms can supplement their income.
1. Freelance writing. Consider being a freelance writer and editor for a company or for individual clients. In the fast growing world of the Internet, great content is always highly sought after. If you have a specific topic that you would like to write about, consider going online to find an electronic publication or ezine to write for. If you are able to write on a wide variety of topics, then you'll find even more opportunities to write. It's easy enough to find clients; you can either join some Internet marketing forums or sign up on a couple of freelancing websites.
2. Website or graphic design. If you have an artistic flair, then you should consider entering the website designing business. All you need is Adobe Photoshop and some creative inspiration and you're good to go. There are many types of graphic design, including minisites, eBook covers, WordPress themes, banners, image ads, logos, and more. The possibilities with design are really endless and people will pay top prices if you can do excellent work for them.
3. Being a virtual assistant. Being a virtual assistant is kind of like being a secretary, except that you can work from your own home. You may be answering calls that have been directed through to you, responding to emails, updating websites or databases, or anything of that sort. Becoming a virtual assistant will require you to have good interpersonal skills as well as proficiency with, or an ability to learn, how to use software such as Microsoft Word.
4. Dropshipping through eBay. It's common knowledge that you can use eBay to make money by selling off your unwanted items, but not too many people know that it can also be used for dropshipping. This requires you to find a supplier of a product that is in demand and to then list that product on eBay. Once you make the sale, you then place an order with the supplier for that product and have them mail it directly to the person you sold it to, with you taking a cut of the profits. The great thing about this model is that you do not need to worry about fulfillment or keeping inventory.
5. Blogging. This tends not to be result in instant cash but, as a long term model, you can easily make a passive income. Create your own WordPress blog on your own domain and create a theme for your blog. If you post regularly, and keep your content consistent to your theme, your readership will steadily grow, your blog will gain visibility within your niche, and you'll start to earn money from ads as well as other revenue sources.
