Do you want to know how you can make easy money online selling web templates? It was really intimidating when I first started out and it was also very confusing because I didn't really know where to begin. There were a lot of doubts that I've been thinking because I'm not really good at web design and because I'm generally a web programmer.
A word of advice - just take some action when you want something done. It's normal that you're going to have some doubts but you shouldn't let them hinder you from taking action. There are only 4 easy steps on how you can make money just by selling web templates.
Follow Design Tutorials
It doesn't matter if you don't have a degree on web design but there's no excuse not to learn the basics because nobody is going to buy junk. The Internet has many tutorials on web design and do your best to follow them and also study some general web design theory. You're going to have a hard time when you're just starting but just keep on learning from the tutorials so you can get comfortable with Photoshop. Also look into why some websites have better designs than others.
Let's Design
After you finished with some design tutorials, it's time to work on your web template. I really like websites that have a corporate feel to them. It's really hard to get started when you're staring a blank computer screen, that's why I would suggest that you bring out some paper and sketch your initial draft before starting up your graphics program.
Design Conversion to HTML
Take time to finish your draft and after that you should then cut out your design and convert it to HTML and CSS. Please use CSS when applying layout styles to your websites and don't use the old-school table tags. Take time to inspect your finished website in some of the popular web browsers so you can fix layout issues.
Sell Your Template
The SitePoint Marketplace is where I sold my first web template. You can post your web template for $5 in their templates section. Check around on other sellers on how much they charge and what features they have in their templates so you can set a good price. If you're not good with SitePoint, you can just search the Internet for websites that will let you sell your templates.
