Your first aid kit may have some of these things, so be sure to check it. You do not need duplicate things; it will just take up room.
A Swiss army knife, flint rod, compass, and handheld can opener are also good to add to your pack. These things could come in handy in several situations. A snake bite kit and tablets to purify your water are also very good ideas. You can boil your water for ten minutes and it will be safe for drinking if you do not want to add the water purification tablets.
A disposable lighter is also a great idea. You may even decide that you want to have fishing equipment like hooks, lures, and fishing line. Bottled water, food and flashlights are probably among the most important things you will need in a survival pack. Keep an eye on the expiration dates of things in your pack. Be sure that you have survival packs for several situations. You will want a pack especially made for camping trips. You will need a pack that stays at your house in case of a natural disaster. You could also keep a pack in your vehicle.
When disasters happen, it's too late to locate the things you want in one place. Make sure you are ready for the worst case scenario with a survival pack. Don't be left unprepared again!
