Jesse McCartney is likely to make every teenage girl swoon at his feet with his dreamy looks and sentimental songs. Recently McCartney stepped onto the football field at the Thanksgiving Day game between the Detroit Lions and the Tennessee Titans. The heartthrob enthralled fans with his upcoming single “How Do You Sleep?” as well as the smash hit “Leavin’.” Incidentally, the Titans were mouthing the same words to the Lions as they whimpered off the field after a particularly embarrassing final score of 47 to 10. McCartney, however, is anything but on his way out and has recently been appearing on various radio stations and television shows around the country.
McCartney initially came to fame in the early 2000s as the youngest member of the popular boy band at the time, Dream Street. He subsequently launched his solo career and soon became a teenage phenomenon, attracting the attention of girls around the nation.
His first full length album release was Beautiful Soul, which was released in September 2004. The record featured four songs that were actually penned by McCartney himself: “That Was Then,” “Get Your Shine On,” “What’s Your Name” and “She’s No You.” The titled song peaked at the number two spot on AOL Music, and the music video performed well on MTV’s Total Request Live. He started his first solo tour shortly after the release of his debut, stopping mainly in amusement parks in order to further capitalize on the success he was having with the younger generation.
McCartney’s sophomore effort was called Right Where You Want Me, released in 2006. The title single from the record was an immediate smash hit and was followed by the equally impressive tune “Just So You Know.” His third single from the album, “Just Go,” was only released in Italy, where his youthful pop oriented style was making a huge impression on listeners. During this time, as McCartney was emerging on the music market, pairs of Jesse McCartney tickets were selling out fast.
Jesse McCartney once again returned to the recording studio to work on his third album, called Departure. It was released in May 2008 and features the hit songs “Leavin’” and “It’s Over.” The record proved to be a slight break away from his usual material as it was billed as an R& B album. In order to promote the effort, he toured with Jordin Sparks for a few months during the summer and drew in record crowds.
Although still a young man, McCartney takes his trade seriously. Unlike other pop stars of today, McCartney has a hand in writing much of his own material as well as songs for other artists. He co wrote the hit song “Bleeding Love,” which appeared on singer Leona Lewis’s debut album, Spirit. It is also rumored that McCartney may be joining forces with Sparks in the studio as she prepares to release her sophomore effort.
